Blink

March came....I blinked.....now it's gone. I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. Just last year in March we arrived here at Scott AFB. We were totally stressed out about selling our KS house, it seemed like each day was an eternity. Yes, its true, we had to wait almost six more months to sell that beautiful house. But, once we did our stress levels decreased and time sped up. Now, one year later, I can truthfully say that I am feeling settled here. Phew, what a relief.

Anyway, time got away this month and I barely had time to sit down and blog. It's not that I didn't have anything to write about. Our crazy life continued on as usual, with the typical activities. Things like......

Two trips to the ER
Little Gym classes for my sweet girl
A 13th wedding anniversary
A trip to Monkey Joe's
A bowling night
Chocolate Chip cookie making
Wednesday evening Church/Team Kid
MOPS
Children's Choir
St. Patrick's Day festivities
A fishing trip to the base lake
Military Wives Small Group
A going away dinner for a MOPS friend
Mom's Night Out
A Pre-teen dance at the youth center for our older boys
baseball sign ups
And Many, Many, Many more things I can't even remember.

Maybe, I will be a better blogger in April........

Quote of the Day.....

CJ~"Mom are you sure you want to wear your hair like that?"

Me~"Honey, I am not done fixing it yet. I just finished blow drying it!"

CJ~"Good, 'cause you kind of look like a chuzzle!"

For all of those that don't know what a chuzzle is.........

NICE!

Sew much fun!!

My friend Shara came over the other day and taught me how to make this adorable dress! I think I am quickly becoming a sewing addict. I now dream about sewing projects and spend my days planning my next trip to the fabric store. I have two more similar dresses lined up to work on for Catie Beth, an exact replica of the dress pictured for my niece, and a baby quilt that I have no idea who will receive. I better get busy! Happy Monday Everybody!!

Terrific Toddler Takes a Tumble

The weather was so nice yesterday. We had to take advantage of it. Catie Beth and I spent all afternoon outside playing in the backyard. It was wonderful! Well, it was wonderful, until Catie Beth got her feet all tangled up beneath her and fell face first onto the patio. The sound of her head hitting the concrete was nauseating. My first instinct was to panic. I scooped her up and took her inside the house to assess the damage. Her nose was bright red and a knot was growing on her forehead before my very eyes. I was relieved, no stitches were needed and the bump on her head was swelling out instead of inward (that is always a good sign). I got some ice for her head and cleaned up her nose and lip.

She is fine today, but she looks a little on the pitiful side. Poor sweet pea is sporting some pretty good scabs.

This is what she looked like last night after the swelling went down a bit. Her eyes were still puffy from crying.
This is my sweet girl today. She was not enjoying the entire picture taking experience this morning. She just wanted to watch "berry berry cake" AKA her Strawberry Shortcake DVD.
I am sure she will heal just fine. I just hate to see my kids hurt.

Just keeping it real.....

Yes, that is my daughter covered in ink again. This time she colored her socks too.
Oh, and I recently discovered that her baby doll likes to have her hands colored on as well.
I promise you, I really do watch her, VERY closely, I might add. She just gets into things so quickly while I am doing other Mommy chores. For example, while I am changing laundry around or filling the dish washer.

I keep telling myself that this is just a phase. I mean, seriously, I did survive three toddler boys at the same time. Surely, I can handle one sweet little girl, Right?

Quote of the Day.....

Me~"Did you have a good day at school CJ?"

CJ~"Yeah, I had a good day. I didn't even get anything on my shirt today."

Wow, that is quite an accomplishment. :)
