Explanation...

I just read over that last post and realized that I have a tendency to be overly dramatic.  No, we are not falling apart or having any big troubles at the very moment.  I just realized that I have been spending large amounts of time on the computer instead of investing that time in my kiddos.  Much like I did while waiting for Catie Beth to come home.

Summer is quickly approaching and I realized that I need to reach a balance in my time management.  So, the best way to teach myself this, is to step away from the Internet for a spell.  I know that I can't stay away forever.  As I sit here today I am mulling some future posts over in my mind.

But,  we really would covet some prayer.  Steve has several trips coming up in the near future.  I am still having a hard time acclimating myself to our new home.  Our house in KS is still on the market and it is getting harder to make ends meet every month.  Yadda, Yadda, Yadda,  You get the picture.  Life is stressful!!  I find myself praying for Peace again.  I want peace like a river, I want peace like a river, I want peace like a river in my soul.  Do you hear the music?  :o)

Soon I will be singing the song as written....I've GOT peace like a river.

Taking a Break...

Hey blogettes,

I am going to take a break from my blog.  I am not sure if it will be a few weeks or forever.  Life, has been tough for us for the last few years and I think the stress of it all is finally taking a toll on our entire family.  I need to spend ALL my time and effort, nurturing the precious gifts that God has bestowed upon us.  Please pray for our family!!!

In God's precious Love,

Christa

Yo, Gabba, Gabba

Have you ever seen this show?  It is by far the weirdest children's show I have ever seen.  I mean who really jumps around with an orange space looking suit and a puffy orange cotton ball thingy on their head.  Oh, and the one eyed monster just looks gross.  Why do kids like this kind of stuff? When I was a kid I was scared of monsters I certainly wouldn't want one jumping out at me on the TV.  I dislike this show almost as much a Caillou.  I think we will be sticking to dvd's for a while.  What is your least favorite children's show?

What was I thinking?

Last night I begged for ice cream....Steve obliged and bought me some.  When we got home I put it away. After rushing around getting the kids ready for bed, I forgot about it.

This morning while getting breakfast ready for the kids...This is what I found....
Yep, thats right, in the refrigerator right next to the apple juice and the guacamole.  It was ruined...completely melted.  Sad thing, is that I have been doing a lot of these sort of things lately.  Leaving the hamburger meat in the microwave to thaw.....for two days.

I am a mess I tell you!

Make me feel better and tell us a silly absent minded thing you have done lately.

Playing....

With my new camera.

We're Home

Catie Beth and I flew home (it is so weird to call this new place home) yesterday.  We had a great weekend with my family!!  We ate, laughed, played, watched a Graduation, celebrated my mom, had a girls lunch, met my new niece, and ate some more.  Did I mention that we had some great food?  We always have a good time when we get together.  I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a wonderful family!!

Last night when Catie Beth and I got home our men took us out for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.  My stomach was a little queasy from traveling so I didn't eat much.  I think the boys were a little disappointed that I wasn't more enthusiastic.  I tried to put on a happy face for them.

When we got home they had a few gifts for me.  They picked out a beautiful pendant that I have been eying and the BX for a while.  They also got me the pink Air Force Wife hat that I have been dropping hints about.  Then, they pulled out the big gift.  Steve bought me a really nice camera.  I have wanted one for quite some time but figured I would wait until the house sold before I asked for it.  Steve didn't even know I wanted one.  Well, maybe he did....It seems that every time I used my old camera the battery would die, or it wouldn't take a picture in the dark and I would complain comment about it.

I can't wait to play with my new camera.  I will get to it right after I clean up from the bachelor weekend that went on here while us girls were away.  :)

Graduation

My baby sister graduated from college today.  I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished.  Cassie has always been a HUGE blessing in my life.  I am thankful that I had the opportunity to attend this special event with her.

This picture is of my sister Cassie, me and my daughter Catie Beth.  My sister and my daughter have started to form a beautiful bond that I hope continues to grow.  They are both Korean adoptees and my hope is that Cassie will be someone that Catie Beth can talk to as she grows up, besides me, of course.

When I was a child my parents adopted my little sister.  As we grew up together I always hoped that one day God would allow me to have a daughter just as beautiful and wonderful as my sister is.  God provided, and now my husband and I are so blessed with our Catie Beth.

Congratulations Cassie, We love you!!!!

Show us Where You Live...Living room edition

We are a military family living on a military base.  This Friday I will be giving you a tour of  my living room and family room.  Both rooms still need a little work...but we have to wait until our house in KS sells before I can buy things like curtains and extra decor.

This shot was taken from the Living room looking toward the front door.

This is the family room.
My favorite chair...I spend most of my "down time" here.
This is our family room sofa.  I have recently found a very large Beautiful mirror that I would like to purchase for the empty wall.  But, like I mentioned before we have to wait on God's timing for our KS house to sell before we can buy anything new.  The door at the right leads to our Mud/laundry room.
So blogettes, thank you for stopping by and checking out my humble little corner of the world.  Don't forget to click on the button (the cartoon picture of the house) at the top of this post and check out all the other homes on the home tour.

Off We Go....

Catie Beth and I left this morning for Omaha.  Sadly, Steve and the boys had to stay behind because of work, school, and of course baseball.  Catie Beth did pretty well on our flights.  The first flight was not very full, so we scored an extra seat for her to sit in.  It was wonderful!!  She entertained herself by watching Tinkerbell on the computer.

Our second flight was completely full so Catie Beth had to sit on my lap.  But, we sat next to the nicest guy.  He was so sweet and played with her.  He was coming home for the first time in 3 years.  He is in the Navy and had been deployed a lot over the last three years.  It was such a blessing to watch him walk up to his welcoming family, they were waving flags and full of tears, ecstatic to see him.  I couldn't help but think about all the times I have been on the other end of the airport waiting for my husband to come home.  I know how they felt....the joy in their hearts....What a sweet homecoming.

We are here in Omaha to see my baby sister graduate from college.

Oh, and we will be sure to get in some girl time as well.  More to come.....

Catie likes Elmo!!!!

Yesterday, after school, I was rushing around trying to get a few things done before we headed out for the ballpark.  I put in a movie....Elmo in Grouchland......in the hopes of a few free min.  When I came back in the family room I found this......
They watched the entire movie just like this.  Nothing like an electronic babysitter.

Show Us Where You Live...Kitchen edition

Go visit Kelly over at www.kellyskornerblog.com and see all the lovely kitchens that are on the home tour today.

So, I guess, I will show ya'll my humble kitchen.  Now, keep in mind that I am living on a military base.  We have a no frills kitchen, but its fully functional and meets our needs.  I have tried to give my kitchen some homey touches.......So here you go.

Basic view of my kitchen
My little built in desk.
The kitchen table....Do you see my precious little girl eating breakfast?

Another shot of the dining area

This is one of my favorite accessories....It is so true!!

This is the view from my kitchen window.  Sorry the quality is not very good.  The picture was shot from inside the window and it is rainy today.  Do you see the airplane?  You might have to click on the picture to enlarge it.  We enjoy watching planes take off all day long.
