Plan B for "B"

Meet "B"
"B" is Catie Beth's beloved security item that she lovingly named "B".

All of my kids have had something they were attached to.  Caleb and Cody had blankets, CJ had a Hot wheels school bus (Yes, I know it's unconventional, but, that is what he loved from about 18 months on.  He slept with it and everything.  He isn't your run of the mill kid.  Never has been.  He's a third kid, Okay!!)

ahem!!  Back to Catie Beth....she has "B"

It started out as anything soft that she could tickle her ear with and suck her thumb.  A blanket, a stuffed bunny, a teddy bear.  It didn't really matter to her as long as it was soft.

So, one day, a few months after Catie Beth came home, we were out shopping and I didn't have anything soft to give her and she was starting to get really upset. It was obviously around October, as "B" is an orange bear with a pumpkin hat and says "so cute it's scary" on it.

So, as the indulgent mother that I am, I quickly picked up "B" at Kohl's and let her carry him around the store.  It did the trick!  I  finished my shopping and needed to hurry home to pick up the boys from school.  Which meant we would be in the car for at least 45 minutes and who wants to listen to a screaming baby for 45 minutes when a stuffed animal was there for the buying right in front of them.  Not me!  So "B" was purchased, and that is how "B" became a part of Catie Beth's "soft things" collection.

It wasn't until our trip out here (to St. Louis) in Feb (to look for a house), that "B" became the front runner in Catie Beth's collection.  On that trip "B" was the soft thing that was grabbed for the journey.  It has since become her everything.

"B" has ridden the Metro with us.
He eats dinner with us...Yes, even when we go out for dinner.
He watches TV with us.

He went to Nebraska for Aunt Cassie's graduation.
He has been to Six Flags with us.
And well, he generally hangs out with us.
But, on our trip to TX, there were a few stressful hours on the road when we thought "B" was gone forever.  We couldn't find him and we worried he was left at a McDonald's between TX and IL.

Luckily, we found him under the seat, stuffed behind blankets and pillows, and day old french fries from one of our many stops at Mickey D's (as Steve calls it) along the way.

Blogettes, this was serious, we didn't know what to do when we thought he was lost.

I can tell you that this will never happen again.  Because as soon as we got home, there was a google search for a Carters "So cute it's scary" Bear.

We found one at mommies plan b loveys
And we couldn't be happier!!!  Plan B "B" arrived the other day and is now being rotated with the original "B" as he is being washed.  Phew!  May we never lose "B" again.

You are so fortunate to have found a back up "B". Brooklyn had Bunny that she slept with ever since she got it her first Easter. We were at the mall for pictures and had washed Bunny and put bows on her ears, so she would look the part. However, at some point she fell (or was tossed) from the stroller. I retraced all of our steps, went to customer service, mall security and called Towne East daily for a week, but Bunny never showed up. She hasn't forgotten him to this day!
